Content Removal Policy

This policy explains how to request the removal of content from Untolds, content that depicts you, your work, or that you believe is unlawful, and the process we follow.

Effective 9 May 2026

1. Who can request removal

You can request removal of content on the Service if any of the following apply to you:

  • the content appears to depict you (including your face, likeness, or voice), or someone you are legally authorised to represent;
  • the content infringes your intellectual-property rights — for copyright claims specifically, see our DMCA Policy;
  • the content is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise violates section 6 of the Terms of Service;
  • the content is yours and you wish to retract it.

2. How to submit a removal request

Send your request by email to legal@untolds.chat. To let us act quickly, include:

  • a clear identification of the content (URL, screenshot, account identifier, message timestamp, persona name, etc.);
  • a brief description of the reason for removal — e.g. "this depicts me without consent", "this is my copyrighted image", "this violates section 6.X";
  • your contact details and, if you are acting on behalf of someone else, evidence of your authority to do so;
  • for likeness/identity claims: enough information for us to reasonably believe you are the person depicted (this typically does not require ID; a reference image and an account/email link is usually sufficient);
  • a statement, made in good faith, that the information in your request is accurate.

We do not require a court order, notarisation, or paid legal counsel for a removal request to be considered.

3. What happens after we receive a request

  • We acknowledge most requests within 3 business days.
  • We aim to action clearly valid requests within 7 business days. Some requests — especially those that require independent verification (deepfakes, identity claims) — can take longer.
  • For categories where speed matters most — suspected sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, threats to life — we triage and remove on a priority basis, typically within hours of confirming the report.
  • Where we are unable to verify a request or where the content does not violate our rules, we will respond explaining why.

4. Content we will remove on request, without further analysis

  • any sexual content depicting, or claimed to depict, a minor;
  • intimate imagery of an identifiable real person without their consent, including AI-generated "deepfake" intimate imagery;
  • content that doxes a real person (publishes private contact details, home address, etc.);
  • content that constitutes a credible threat against a specific person or group.

5. Removal vs. erasure of your own data

If you want to delete your own account or your own chat history, you do not need this process. Account-level deletion is described in the Privacy Policy (sections 9 and 12). The removal process here is for content visible to others or for content you are not the owner of.

6. Bad-faith or abusive requests

Submitting knowingly false or bad-faith removal requests — for example to silence lawful expression, harass a creator, or claim ownership over content that is not yours — is itself a violation of these policies and may lead to refusal of further requests from that sender, and to cooperation with authorities where required.

7. Appeals

If your removal request is refused, or if your content is removed and you believe the removal was wrong, you can appeal by replying to the decision email. Your appeal will be reviewed by someone other than the person who made the initial decision where reasonably possible. See also our Complaint Policy.
